To ensure the continued understanding and implementation of RECCo’s Theft Reduction Strategy, RECCo are now considering the creation of an Energy Theft Learning Space. Prior to any commitment towards the creation of this initiative, we are providing you the opportunity to schedule a confidential 1-2-1 with the RECCo Energy Theft SME’s.

This confidentiality will allow a candid discussion on current Energy Theft topics of your choosing – allowing you to seek further clarity on theft related areas you believe your organisation would benefit.

Following completion of the scheduled 1-2-1, RECCo will ask you to provide any feedback on the topics discussed. The theft-related topics chosen by you and the feedback provided will allow RECCo to highlight the common areas of theft activities and obligations that RECCo should be prioritising as we move toward the creation of the Learning Space.

For those of you wishing to be involved, RECCo ask that you respond to the Theft Inbox at theft@retailenergycode.co.uk providing the following:

  • 3 suitable time/dates from your availability between the scheduling dates below
  • the topics you wish to discuss
  • the name and email address of the person/s attending (maximum of 2 representatives)

RECCo will then schedule the most suitable day for the 1 hour confidential 1-2-1 Theft SME session and confirm this with you.

Scheduling Dates

  1. Between 18 November 2024 and 13 December 2024
  2. Between 13 January 2025 and 07 March 2025

Topics (not exhaustive)

  • REC Schedules 7 & 8 – Energy Theft Reduction, Unbilled Energy CoP
  • ETTOS – Energy Theft Tip-Off Service
  • TDIS – Theft Detection Incentive Scheme
  • Energy Theft Investigation – Best Practice
  • Energy Theft Data Portal
  • Energy Theft Reduction Hub (REC Portal)
  • Other – (Please specify in response)

It should be noted that this invite is in relation to Energy Theft topics only, and to assist stakeholders in assessing knowledge gaps or providing further clarity on theft obligations, investigations, and expectations. These sessions are not an opportunity to raise theft issues or suggestions from a stakeholder perspective - this remains firmly within the remit of the Theft Issues Group (TIG).

RECCo ask that you respond as soon as practicable, either with your scheduling request or to confirm that you do not require a session.
